With a contemporary approach to exhibiting O’art exhibitions; continuing the tradition of physical exhibitions in which the art-exhibition-space-audience relationship is established, it also transfers its annual program to the first default digital platform this year.
The exhibitions, held in the online-accessible 2020-2021 year program, supports the production of new art without restricting form, medium, content and approach. It contributes to the recognition of the artists and art by expanding its sphere of influence with workshops and speeches through the content of topics covered in almost every exhibition.

Odeabank’ın sanat platformu O’Art, günümüz sanatının tüm disiplinlerini sosyo-kültürel yapının güncel sorunlarının eleştirisi ile farklı mekânlarda herkes için ulaşılabilir kılmayı amaçlar.
O’art sergilerini çağdaş sergileme yaklaşımıyla; sanatçı-yapıt-mekân-izleyici ilişkisinin kurulduğu fiziksel sergileme geleneğini sürdürdüğü senelik programını bu yıl ilk defa dijital platforma da aktarmaktadır. Çevrimiçi erişilebilir 2020-2021 senelik programında gerçekleştireceği sergiler ile; biçim, form, içerik ve yaklaşım kısıtlamaksızın yeni sanat üretimini destekler. Hemen her sergi sırasında ele alınan konuların içeriklerine paralel hazırlanan atölye çalışmaları ve konuşmalar ile etki alanını genişleterek sanatçıların ve sanatın görünürlüğüne katkıda bulunur.

Odeabank's art platform, O'art, utilizes all disciplines of today's art to criticize the current problems of the socio-cultural structure making it available to everyone.
With a contemporary approach to exhibiting O’art exhibitions; continuing the tradition of physical exhibitions in which the art-exhibition-space-audience relationship is established, it also transfers its annual program to the first default digital platform this year.
The exhibitions, held in the online-accessible 2020-2021 year program, supports the production of new art without restricting form, medium, content and approach. It contributes to the recognition of the artists and art by expanding its sphere of influence with workshops and speeches through the content of topics covered in almost every exhibition.

Herhangi bir eşitliğin konuşulması, mevcut düzende bir eşitsizligin varlığına kesin bir işarettir. Toplumsal yaşamdaki en temel süreç olarak eşitlik hakkının tartışmaya açık olduğu bugün sorunun çözümü, yine toplumun kendisi tarafından sağlanabilir.
Andre Breton ataerkil baskıyı hedef aldığı, toplumsal cinsiyet konusunda devrimci sürrealizm hareketinin ilk manifestosunda, "Belki de insanın ‘gerçek yaşam’ına en çok yaklaşan anlar çocukluğudur." diye yazmıştır. Halbuki çocukluktan beri sezgilerine yabancılaştırılan kitleler, varoluşuna ihanet ederek; başkaları tarafından belirlenen, idealize edilen, hatta dayatılan ‘yaşam’sal kararları kabul ederek, bireysel özgürlüklerini yitiriyor.
Canan'ın üretiminin ana konulanı da kadın kavramı ve kadının edilgen konumunun eleştirisi, beden ve toplumsal cinsiyet konularının sezgiler ve duygular aracılığıyla kolektif düşünceye olan etkisine odaklanmaktadır. Erişkin bir zihnin tüm kısıtlamalarının yokluğunda özgürleşen sezgileri, Canan'ın hikâyenin en başına dönerek çocuklukta anlatılan masallardan, efsanelerden kurguladığı bir dünyada; kendi dünyasından biriktirdiği her miti ve imgeyi içine yerleştirebildiği, mitolojik karakterlere büründürdüğü bir hayali alem yaratıyor.
Bir hikaye anlatıcısı olarak Canan, toplumsal normlarla belirlenemez biçimlerde toplumsal olanın izini süren; bedenden üstün ruhun kabul gördüğü, varlığının ispati olmayan varliklardan yarattiği masal kahramanlarını bize hediye ediyor. Bugüne dek kötü olanın iyiye dönüştürüldüğü bir sezgisellikle anlatılmış bütün masalları, efsaneleri ve hikayeleri kendini gerçekleştirebilmesine aracılık sağladığının inancıyla Canan, imgenin iyileştirici gücüne inanır.
Hayal-i Alem sergisiyle tanıklık ettigimiz bu masallar, Canan’ın bedensel ve sezgisel bir özgürleşme önerisidir.

The talk of any equality is a sure sign of the existence of an inequality in the current order Today, where the right to equality as the most fundamental process in communal living is open to debate, the solution to the problem can be provided by the society itself. In the first manifesto of the revolutionary surrealism movement on the subject of gender, in which Andre Breton took aim at patriarchal oppression, he wrote that "perhaps the moments that approach people's 'real life' the most are childhood "However, the masses, who have been alienated from their intuition since childhood, betrayed their existence; losing individual freedoms by accepting the 'life' decisions determined, idealized or even imposed by others.
The main topics of Canan's production are; the concept of women and criticism of the passive position of women; the impact of body and gender issues on collective thinking through intuition and emotions. She exposes the power structure of the patriarchal system, which takes a leading role in gender building, based on her own body. Liberated in the absence of all the constraints of an adult mind, her intuition creates an imaginary realm in which she has fictionalized from fairy tales and legends told in childhood, Canan goes back to the very beginning of the story and place every myth and image she has accumulated from her own world into disguised mythological characters.
As a storyteller, Canan traces the social in forms that cannot be determined by social norms; presents us with fairy-tale heroes created from beings who are accepted by the soul above the body, who have no proof of their existence. With the belief of that it mediates the realization of all the tales, legends and stories told with an intuition that has so far turned bad into the good, Canan believes in the healing power of image.
These tales, which we witnessed with the Hayal-i Alem exhibition, are Canan's phsyical and intuitive liberation proposal.

1998 den beri sanat çalışmalarına devam eden ve kendini feminist olarak tanımlayan CANAN, son dönem çalışmalarında kolektif bilinç ve bilinçaltında bulunan sembollerin insan davranışları ve ilişkileri üzerine çalışmalarını yönlendirir.Semboller, evrimsel süreç ve kolektif bilinçaltı ile günlük yaşamımıza damga vuran, birbirimizle ve tarihle olan günlük yaşamımızın zamansız, cografyasız ortak dilidir. En "yüksek sanattan", gündelik yaşantımızda yer alan kişisel eşyalarımızda, telefonlarımızın emojisinde, politikada, insanlık ve sanat tarihinde zaman zaman farklı anlamlara gelse de, çoğunlukla bize güzelliklerin, insan duygu ve düşüncelerinin aktarımında yer alan, ortak bir dildir. Biz semboller aracılığıyla, çoğunlukla bizden önceki yaşamlar hakkında bugünün bakış açısıyla yorumlara ve algıya sahip oluruz. CANAN, son dönem çalışmalarında, doğadan beslenip anlam kazanarak sembolize olan, zaman zaman korkutucu, zaman zaman güzelliğin tanımı olan imgelerin zihnimizde yarattığı, bilişsel, sezgisel ve düşsel etkisi üzerine çalışmalarına devam etmektedir. İnsan başlı, hayvan bedenli tanrısal semboller bize evrimsel süreci hatırlatmasına rağmen, bu semboller çağlara göre farklı anlam kazanabilir. Bu, bir çağda denizlerin koruyucusu Poseidon olarak algıladığı gibi, kıtlık yaratan öfkeli bir tanrı olarak da algılanabilir. Geçirilen süreç içinde, cadılar şifacı, güçlerinden korkulan gizemli kadınlar ya da cizgifilmlerdeki bilge kadın ya da kötülüğün sembolü olarak da... An artist who has been continuing her art practices since 1998 and who defines herself as a feminist, CANAN examines symbols within the collective consciousness and the subconscious, and reflects on how these symbols shape human behaviors and relationships. Symbols are a timeless, non-geographical and common language that mark our daily lives and that define our relationship with each other and with history. Symbols are a common language, for which the meaning ranges from the "highest art" to daily objects, such as emojis in our phones, to those in politics, humanity and art history, but one that is mostly involved with the transfer of beauty, human feelings and thoughts. Through symbols, we often have an understanding and perception of past times from a contemporary perspective. In her most recent works, CANAN continues to work on the cognitive, intuitive and imaginative effects of images, which are at times frightening, and at times definitive of beauty, nurtured by nature and symbolized through perceived meanings. Although half human, half animal divine symbols remind us of the evolutionary process, these symbols can have shifting meanings in different time periods. During one period, Poseidon can be perceived as an angry god who causes famine, or as the protector of the seas in another one. In the progress of time, the witches turn into healers, or into mysterious women feared due to their power, wise woman in cartoons, to symbols of evil. How we perceive a symbol is dependent upon personal and social perspectives. The artist continues to employ symbols that have a negative perception, and to give them positive connotations in her works, in order to study the intuitive, emotional or intellectual purification of the human soul by means of images, in a similar way to letters and music, and to enable its communication with itself and with others.

hayal-i alem
Herhangi bir eşitliğin konuşulması, mevcut düzende bir eşitsizligin varlığına kesin bir işarettir. Toplumsal yaşamdaki en temel süreç olarak eşitlik hakkının tartışmaya açık olduğu bugün sorunun çözümü, yine toplumun kendisi tarafından sağlanabilir.
Andre Breton ataerkil baskıyı hedef aldığı, toplumsal cinsiyet konusunda devrimci sürrealizm hareketinin ilk manifestosunda, "Belki de insanın ‘gerçek yaşam’ına en çok yaklaşan anlar çocukluğudur." diye yazmıştır. Halbuki çocukluktan beri sezgilerine yabancılaştırılan kitleler, varoluşuna ihanet ederek; başkaları tarafından belirlenen, idealize edilen, hatta dayatılan ‘yaşam’sal kararları kabul ederek, bireysel özgürlüklerini yitiriyor.
Canan'ın üretiminin ana konulanı da kadın kavramı ve kadının edilgen konumunun eleştirisi, beden ve toplumsal cinsiyet konularının sezgiler ve duygular aracılığıyla kolektif düşünceye olan etkisine odaklanmaktadır. Erişkin bir zihnin tüm kısıtlamalarının yokluğunda özgürleşen sezgileri, Canan'ın hikâyenin en başına dönerek çocuklukta anlatılan masallardan, efsanelerden kurguladığı bir dünyada; kendi dünyasından biriktirdiği her miti ve imgeyi içine yerleştirebildiği, mitolojik karakterlere büründürdüğü bir hayali alem yaratıyor.
Bir hikaye anlatıcısı olarak Canan, toplumsal normlarla belirlenemez biçimlerde toplumsal olanın izini süren; bedenden üstün ruhun kabul gördüğü, varlığının ispati olmayan varliklardan yarattiği masal kahramanlarını bize hediye ediyor. Bugüne dek kötü olanın iyiye dönüştürüldüğü bir sezgisellikle anlatılmış bütün masalları, efsaneleri ve hikayeleri kendini gerçekleştirebilmesine aracılık sağladığının inancıyla Canan, imgenin iyileştirici gücüne inanır.
Hayal-i Alem sergisiyle tanıklık ettigimiz bu masallar, Canan’ın bedensel ve sezgisel bir özgürleşme önerisidir.

The talk of any equality is a sure sign of the existence of an inequality in the current order Today, where the right to equality as the most fundamental process in communal living is open to debate, the solution to the problem can be provided by the society itself. In the first manifesto of the revolutionary surrealism movement on the subject of gender, in which Andre Breton took aim at patriarchal oppression, he wrote that "perhaps the moments that approach people's 'real life' the most are childhood "However, the masses, who have been alienated from their intuition since childhood, betrayed their existence; losing individual freedoms by accepting the 'life' decisions determined, idealized or even imposed by others.
The main topics of Canan's production are; the concept of women and criticism of the passive position of women; the impact of body and gender issues on collective thinking through intuition and emotions. She exposes the power structure of the patriarchal system, which takes a leading role in gender building, based on her own body. Liberated in the absence of all the constraints of an adult mind, her intuition creates an imaginary realm in which she has fictionalized from fairy tales and legends told in childhood, Canan goes back to the very beginning of the story and place every myth and image she has accumulated from her own world into disguised mythological characters.
As a storyteller, Canan traces the social in forms that cannot be determined by social norms; presents us with fairy-tale heroes created from beings who are accepted by the soul above the body, who have no proof of their existence. With the belief of that it mediates the realization of all the tales, legends and stories told with an intuition that has so far turned bad into the good, Canan believes in the healing power of image.
These tales, which we witnessed with the Hayal-i Alem exhibition, are Canan's phsyical and intuitive liberation proposal.

1998 den beri sanat çalışmalarına devam eden ve kendini feminist olarak tanımlayan CANAN, son dönem çalışmalarında kolektif bilinç ve bilinçaltında bulunan sembollerin insan davranışları ve ilişkileri üzerine çalışmalarını yönlendirir.Semboller, evrimsel süreç ve kolektif bilinçaltı ile günlük yaşamımıza damga vuran, birbirimizle ve tarihle olan günlük yaşamımızın zamansız, cografyasız ortak dilidir. En "yüksek sanattan", gündelik yaşantımızda yer alan kişisel eşyalarımızda, telefonlarımızın emojisinde, politikada, insanlık ve sanat tarihinde zaman zaman farklı anlamlara gelse de, çoğunlukla bize güzelliklerin, insan duygu ve düşüncelerinin aktarımında yer alan, ortak bir dildir. An artist who has been continuing her art practices since 1998 and who defines herself as a feminist, CANAN examines symbols within the collective consciousness and the subconscious, and reflects on how these symbols shape human behaviors and relationships. Symbols are a timeless, non-geographical and common language that mark our daily lives and that define our relationship with each other and with history. Symbols are a common language, for which the meaning ranges from the "highest art" to daily objects, such as emojis in our phones, to those in politics, humanity and art history, but one that is mostly involved with the transfer of beauty, human feelings and thoughts. Through symbols, we often have an understanding and perception of past times from a contemporary perspective. In her most recent works, CANAN continues to work on the cognitive, intuitive and imaginative effects of images, which are at times frightening, and at times definitive of beauty, nurtured by nature and symbolized through perceived meanings. Although half human, half animal divine symbols remind us of the evolutionary process, these symbols can have shifting meanings in different time periods. During one period, Poseidon can be perceived as an angry god who causes famine, or as the protector of the seas in another one. In the progress of time, the witches turn into healers, or into mysterious women feared due to their power, wise woman in cartoons, to symbols of evil. How we perceive a symbol is dependent upon personal and social perspectives. The artist continues to employ symbols that have a negative perception, and to give them positive connotations in her works, in order to study the intuitive, emotional or intellectual purification of the human soul by means of images, in a similar way to letters and music, and to enable its communication with itself and with others.
